Roastr does not collect any of your data. There is no account and no sign-in, and nothing you enter ever leaves your device. This policy covers Roastr on iPhone and iPad and on Android.
Everything you enter — recipes, brewing methods, coffee beans, brew records, ratings, tasting notes and photos — is stored only on your device, in the app's own database. None of it is transmitted anywhere, and the developer has no way to see it.
Roastr can read a coffee bag's label to fill in the roaster, origin, process and roast date for you. The image is processed entirely on your device — with Apple's Vision framework on iOS, and with Google's on-device ML Kit on Android, which also removes the background from gear photos you add. No photograph and no recognised text is uploaded or shared. Photos are saved to your photo library only when you explicitly choose to keep one.
Roastr can remind you about bean freshness, a morning brew, or a weekly summary. These notifications are scheduled locally by the app; nothing is sent through a server, and permission is only requested when you turn a reminder on.
There are none. Roastr contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
On Android, the on-device ML Kit library that reads labels sends Google a small amount of technical diagnostic information about its own operation — device model and OS version, the app's package name and version, a per-installation identifier that is not tied to you, and performance and error figures. It never includes your photos, the text read from them, or anything you have entered. Google describes this in its ML Kit data disclosure. The iOS app sends nothing at all.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Roastr is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, regardless of age.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
